WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT ISRAEL?
God’s covenant with Israel is irrevocable and eternal.
“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go … to the land that I will show you … I am the Lord Who brought you out … to give you this land to possess … from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates … I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant … I will give to you and to your offspring … all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession … you shall keep My covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations …’ ” Genesis 12:1, 15:7, 18, 17:7-9
“And Isaac went to Gerar … of the Philistines. And the Lord appeared to him and said, ‘… I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father.’ ” Genesis 26:3
“And behold, the Lord … said, ‘I am the Lord, the God of Abraham … and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring … your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel … ’ ” Genesis 28:13, 32:28
Despite Israel’s disobedience, God always restored Israel to their land, and He always will.
“… then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and He will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scatter you … the Lord your God will bring you into the Land that your fathers possessed, that you may possess it … that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them … ” Deuteronomy 30:3, 5, 20
“Now these are the people … who came up out of the captivity of those exiles … They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town … When the 7th month came, the children of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem.” Ezra 2:1, 3:1
“ ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold I will save My people from the east country and from the west country, and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be My people and I will be their God … I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days … For there shall be a sowing of peace.’ ” Zechariah 8:7-8, 11-12
God chose Israel.
“It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set His love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that He swore to your fathers …” Deuteronomy 7:7-8
ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE, THE LAND BELONGS TO ISRAEL FOREVER!
